How Much of Our Brain do We Really Use?
I’m sure many of you have seen the movie Lucy with Scarlett Johansson who obtains access to 100% of her brain and this allows her to see, hear and know much more than the average person. In reality, this is a myth and the truth is that we actually use 100% of our brain on a daily basis.
Now, that’s not to say that you can’t improve your brain…you are always able to improve your memory, motor skills, understanding, and more. However, put simply, if you don’t use your brain, your brains nuerons will start to wither away, but if your neurons are kept active, then they will grow and expand. You cannot reach 110% or go over 100%, seeing as how you only have but so much brain up there. When I say “grow and expand” think of a plant. Say a plant has 4 leaves, and forms a fifth one. Just because the plant had 4 leaves and gained another, doesn’t mean it is at 125%, it is still at 100%, just with another leaf. Likewise, when a leaf dies, that specific leaf will never grow back, but more leaves will continue to grow…so long as you water and give the plant sunlight.
